Use Description
The county is not incorporated and they do not have a building department. You can build anything, but it must adhere to the National standards. No utilities or services are guaranteed and you must have a Certificate of Compliance from the county judge's office in order to get utilities (if available, most of the areas cannot receive service). For septic systems, you must file an application with our office, since I am the designated Inspector for On-Site Sewage Facilities and they must meet all of the TCEQ standards to pass inspection (no unauthorized installations are allowed). In my 24 years of working, I don't know of any subdivisions with HOA's, so need to worry about that in rural areas. We do not have GIS for rural vacant lots, so you will need to survey in order to find it. We cannot tell you about easements, roads, utitilities, etc, it is up to the individual to visit their property and see what is available. We are not the office that can tell you about subdivisions or regulations of any kind. You should contact the Hudspeth County Judge's Office for these questions, their number is 915-369-2321.
